It was my pleasure to visit and photograph Lofthouse 2000 Brass Band in rehearsal in July 2025 at Belle Isle WMC in south Leeds. Brass and silver bands are a vital part of British musical culture, particularly in the north of England. Not the first time I’ve photographed such a band in rehearsal; several years ago, I visited a rehearsal of Knottingley Silver Band.
